The Art of Self-Care: Prioritizing Your Well-Being

Updated: Apr 14

Considering one’s own well-being is a sign of great care. Many times people believe that if you continually pour into others, that it will satisfy one self. This is very far from true, and can impede if you are a people, pleaser, empath, or just sensitive to others energies Well-being includes a few things but we’ll go over being holistic being consistent with a routine and having boundaries are all good ways to start your own self-care journey.

-Going Holistic: Do you find your body sluggish or very reactive to food items you consume (i.e. lactose intolerant, heartburn)? These may be indicators that your body may need to detox and start with a lighter diet. This is a healthy way of taking care of yourself by putting great food and vitamins into your body to see a difference on the outside.

-Creating Routines/Rituals: Many want to treat themselves better but may get easily overwhelmed with change. Small ways of creating a new and short way of life can be, journaling, add-on self-care/skincare to already created routines (i.e. brushing teeth, showering), making a conscious decision to add more water to your day. Once you identify your goal, it's easy to get started!

-Consistency: Creating a plan in your head is very easy, it's the sticking to the daily/weekly plan that's the hard part. We've all heard it takes approximately 21days to create a new habit. Writing yourself a daily/weekly to-do list is a great way to track your short-term goals. Many also join social media pages dedicated to their new routine, habit or hobby.

-Establishing Boundaries: This one can be difficult, especially for those in the beauty business or those that identify as empaths. Creating physical, spiritual and emotional boundaries are great ways to help that you don't take on too much in your business/clients than you are able to bear. Entrepreneurs are notorious for pushing past their limits and it sets the precedence that your needs will not be considered in other's plans. Don't take it personal! Your boundaries, once communicated effectively, will help you to intuitively know what's best for you.
